As an official journal of the International Society for Sexual Medicine and the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health, it provides healthcare professionals in sexual medicine with essential educational content and promotes the exchange of scientific information generated from experimental and clinical research.

Sexual Medicine, a Gold Open Access publication, lends itself very well to research of interest to lay communities and mental health experts. The Journal is fully compliant with various funder mandates.

Sexual Medicine Reviews publish critical analysis of published literature by content experts in sexual medicine, providing the highest level of evidence to guide clinical practice.


About the ISSM

The International Society for Sexual Medicine was established in 1978 for the purpose of promoting research and exchange of knowledge for the clinical entity "impotence" throughout the international scientific community. The principal orientation of ISSM was initially towards basic science of erection, defects in the erectile mechanism, and the clinical aspects of diagnosis and treatment of erectile dysfunction. The orientation is now towards the whole field of human sexuality.
